Nascar Racing Facts and Trivia

Racing fans everywhere will know that Nascar racing is a big deal. Each year stock car racing gets bigger and bigger. This sports event has grown so much since its first race on the Charlotte Speedway in June 19, 1949. There are even sports parties modeled after the Nascar theme. Some have these parties around Nascar time or just on their birthdays. The Nascar name has been around for fifty three years ever since Nascar president Bill France Sr. hit on the idea of racing cars that people could actually drive on the street.

Nascar has a language all its own and many fans will be familiar with the slang terms used on the track, but those throwing a Nascar themed party may not be familiar with the terms. You might want to think about throwing in few of these words on your banners, and invitations to add the Nascar flavor to your party. When a racecar is in 'Balance' that means its not oversteering or understeering but its going around the track as if it's on rails. The 'Groove' is considered to be the best or most efficient way around the track. 'Happy Hour' is the term used to refer to the official practice session around the racetrack before the main race.

You can add some fun to any Nascar party with some interesting trivia and facts games. Did you know that a yellow strip across the rear of a Nascar driving car signals that there's a rookie driver behind the wheel? And the closest finish in Nascar history is .002 seconds on March 16, 2003 when Ricky Craven beat Kurt Busch. Make up a few cards with trivia questions on them and have a quick game of Nascar Knowledge before the next big race. Guests are sure to love it.

NASCAR Race Track Experience

For the diehard NASCAR fans, we know that the sounds and roar of the engines and the air as these cars race by is something you cannot get at home, even with a large screen plasma HDTV. The vibrational energy at a NASCAR event is unbelievable and we should use this energy to light up the Race Track utilizing this energy. How so you ask?

By lining the race track walls with special sheets and placing these large 4' X 8' sandwich sheets with a taunt film on the vibrational side and small copper lined tubes; hundreds of these tubes running perpendicular to the sheets, with magnets inside bouncing back and forth. These magnets will charge a capacitor and be hooked up to an LED lighting system using fiber optics or reflectors, each one hooked up to a .2 to .5 watt light. With hundreds of thousands of lights hooked up in a composite format it will light up the racetrack without the light pollution associated with streetlights, stadium lights or in large cities.

Currently this technology is being used in those little flashlights you see advertised on television that you shake and they light, but you never need batteries. This idea of lighting up the racetrack is using that technology on a larger scale with miniaturized parts making up the guts between the sandwich sheets. Let there be light, thru vibrational energy and there was. Think on it.
