Hello, this is Article Two in my three part exposé on Resume Writing. I will be covering four of the most important aspects of resume writing in this article so please, pay attention.

This is for you the reader to use, so please use the data and build yourself an amazing resume that
gets you lots and lots of interviews! Isn't that the what it's all about? I think so!

Good Luck !

Point Number 1: Use Powerful Action Words and Phrases

Notice In the title above I could have said "Use verbs" but that wouldn't have been as strong, See? Your Resume has to grab the readers attention. Get a thesaurus or book on word use or grab a Professional Resume Writer, whatever, but do not skip this step. This alone makes the difference between getting "seen" and well... no interviews!

Point Number 2: Use Post Titles That Describe The Positions Accurately (within the Industry)

"What does that mean?" You may ask.

Use this guide:

1. Do the job titles reflect the duties that are listed.

2. Does the job title indicate the level of the post ? i.e. Junior or Senior positions. An example: A Janitor is also classified as a Jr. or Sr.building Maintenance engineer.

3. The post titles should be "current" Don't use old outdated job titles. Older job titles may inadvertently create the wrong impression.

Point Number 3: Be Sensible With The Design, Layout and Formatting Of Your Resume

Give your resume a balanced and even look. When formating your resume for distribution
keep in mind that Microsoft WORD is used by a virtually every businesses in the USA. Don't write
your resume in Corel WP, Mac, Works or other files No one can read them! If you are sending your
resume electronically, format it in a web-friendly text format so that when it is scanned in it will
also be readable.

Remember resume writing is a Business activity not a wedding invitation so use simple easy to read fonts,
don't use more than 1 or 2 styles or sizes. Use even spacing and make the Resume Pop and Stand Out!

Point Number 4: You have to have a Logical and Easy To Follow Flow To Your Resume.

Remember you are trying to "Sell" You. You must guide the reader taking him where you want him to go, having him see and discover exactly what you want him to discover and keep his Interest growing the whole time. The objective Statement (Summary) comes first, but then what?

Look over the following:
A. Your Education should be a second page Item unless: you are a new graduate with 2 years or less of experience. Or if, you have a distinguished degree or a degree from a top level institution.

B. For the best effect the objective Statement (Summary) should lead into a section showcasing your areas of expertise. Spreading out this data through the body of the resume doesn't give the resume punch it harms it.

C. There should be a section on your qualifications and if applicable your growth as a professional in your field. This should be followed by your career path history.

There, now you have the 2nd part of Resume Writing, The Truth Revealed ( A Three Part Exposé ). These are powerful data for you. Use them well, Good Luck and read the other 2 parts of this series.
